Here’s What You’ll Learn In This Course:

The CPCWHS1001 – White Card course is designed to prepare participants to work safely in the construction industry by providing essential knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) standards and procedures. The training covers key topics including:

  • Understanding WHS legislative requirements and duty of care responsibilities.
  • Identifying common construction hazards and implementing effective risk control measures.
  • Correct use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Site safety procedures, emergency protocols, and incident reporting.

The course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom setting to ensure interactive learning and hands-on experience with PPE and hazard identification exercises. Assessment involves a short written knowledge test and practical demonstrations to confirm your understanding of safe work practices.

On successful completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for CPCWHS1001 and an interim White Card certificate, with your physical White Card posted shortly after. This certificate is nationally recognised and is a legal requirement to work or enter any construction site in Australia. It is also highly relevant for tradespeople, apprentices, labourers, site visitors, and professionals who need construction site access.

Achievements

Upon successful completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment which can be used as evidence of completion until your hardcopy Victorian white card is posted to you by WorkSafe Victoria.

  • Bring two forms of identification, such as a driver’s licence and Medicare card (passport or student ID also accepted).
  • Wear appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for a construction environment.

The White Card course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom setting, combining theoretical learning with practical demonstrations to ensure participants understand and can apply safe work practices.

    • Understanding Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws and employer/employee responsibilities.
    • Identifying common construction hazards and implementing risk control measures.
