RIIMPO320F Conduct Civil Construction Excavator Operations

This course is designed for individuals in site-based roles, equipping them with the essential skills to safely operate an excavator for lifting, carrying, and placing materials. While the course provides comprehensive training in the operation of an excavator, it is important to note that it does not cover the competencies required to independently load and unload equipment.

Participants will be required to demonstrate their proficiency in the following areas:

Pre-Operational Procedures: Conducting thorough pre-start inspections and executing proper shutdown procedures to ensure the equipment is safe and ready for use.
Equipment Operation: Safely and effectively operating the excavator in various site conditions, focusing on precision and adherence to safety protocols.
Material Handling: Completing a range of tasks involving the lifting, carrying, and placement of different materials, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Attachment Use: Proficiently using a variety of attachments to maximise the excavator’s operational capabilities.
Loading and Unloading Assistance: Assisting in the safe loading and unloading of the excavator from a trailer, following best practice guidelines.
Safety and Security: Properly parking and securing the equipment after use, in accordance with safety standards and site requirements.
