Asbestos Awareness
This non-accredited Asbestos Awareness course provides learners with a general understanding of asbestos, asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) and the health risks associated with exposure to airborne asbestos fibres. The course covers common locations of asbestos, possible indicators of ACM, relevant workplace responsibilities, prohibited activities, basic risk controls and the correct steps to take when suspected asbestos is identified. The course is delivered entirely online and includes a knowledge assessment.
Asbestos Awareness
This course applies to workers, supervisors and other personnel who may encounter asbestos or suspected asbestos-containing materials during their work. It is suitable for people working in construction, maintenance, demolition, property management, facilities management and related industries.
The course is designed for awareness purposes only. It does not provide a nationally recognised qualification, authorise learners to remove or disturb asbestos, or replace any required asbestos-removal training, licence or competent-person assessment.
Entry Requirements
To enrol in this course, participants must:
- Have sufficient English language, literacy and digital skills to understand the course content and complete the online assessment.
- Have access to a computer, tablet or smartphone with a reliable internet connection.
- Have a current email address.
- Be able to complete the course and assessment independently.
Payment & Booking Terms
Payment in full is required at the time of enrolment. Access to the online course will only be provided once payment has been received.
STEP123 complies with applicable RTO standards and does not collect more than $1,500 in advance from an individual learner. Payment options include credit or debit card, bank transfer, Afterpay, or approved group or workplace invoicing.
Cancellations requested before online course access is provided are eligible for a 50% refund. Once login details have been issued or the learner has accessed the course, no refund will be provided. Approved refunds will be processed within 14 days. This does not affect the learner’s rights under Australian Consumer Law.
A learner may request to transfer their enrolment to another person or defer their course access once at no additional cost, provided the course has not been accessed or commenced. Once the course has commenced, a new enrolment and payment may be required.
If STEP123 cancels the course or is unable to provide access, learners will be offered replacement access, an alternative course or a refund at no additional cost.
