Manual Handling

This non-accredited Manual Handling course provides learners with an understanding of the hazards and risks associated with performing manual tasks. It covers musculoskeletal injuries, workplace risk factors, preparing and assessing loads, safe body positioning, mechanical aids, risk controls and safer methods for lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling.

The course is delivered entirely online and includes a knowledge assessment.

This course applies to workers, supervisors and other personnel who perform or oversee manual tasks in the workplace. It is suitable for people working in construction, warehousing, manufacturing, transport, retail, hospitality, healthcare, offices and other industries where objects or materials may need to be lifted, carried, pushed, pulled, held or moved.

The course is designed for general awareness purposes only. It does not provide a nationally recognised qualification or replace workplace-specific instruction, supervision or practical training.

Entry Requirements

To enrol in this course, participants must:

  • Have sufficient English language, literacy and digital skills to understand the course content and complete the online assessment.
  • Have access to a computer, tablet or smartphone with a reliable internet connection.
  • Have a current email address.
  • Be able to complete the course and assessment independently.

Payment in full is required at the time of enrolment. Access to the online course will only be provided once payment has been received.

STEP123 complies with applicable RTO standards and does not collect more than $1,500 in advance from an individual learner. Payment options include credit or debit card, bank transfer, Afterpay, or approved group or workplace invoicing.

Cancellations requested before online course access is provided are eligible for a 50% refund. Once login details have been issued or the learner has accessed the course, no refund will be provided. Approved refunds will be processed within 14 days. This does not affect the learner’s rights under Australian Consumer Law.

A learner may request to transfer their enrolment to another person or defer their course access once at no additional cost, provided the course has not been accessed or commenced. Once the course has commenced, a new enrolment and payment may be required.

If STEP123 cancels the course or is unable to provide access, learners will be offered replacement access, an alternative course or a refund at no additional cost.

This course is delivered entirely online and completed at the learner’s own pace.
